What a day!

So there are days that come along that make everything make sense.  Today is one of those days.  Miss Kyra decided to make today the day she learns how to ride her bike.  She was a little delayed in this adventure because she was so afraid.  Jackson, our little neighbor, is the one who got her to get over it.  He says, "you're 6...get on the bike."  He took her to the driveway and helped her back and forth a few times and now I can't get her off the thing.  She is so proud of herself, as well she should be.

Kimball also had a pretty big milestone today.  He went on a scout trip and went rappelling for the first time, well the first time outdoors and over a mountain.  He swore that he would never go over that mountain, but he did it.  He is something like Superman right now.

Sadly, Larry had a travel day today and had to miss these things, which he is really disappointed about.  You work through temper tantrums and trying to pretend that you have any idea of what you are doing with this parenting thing, often without thanks or reward.  And then, you get these days.  I am sure that it will end with tears and tantrums over something silly, but for now I will savor the little accomplishments and the joy and smiles that come with them.
